30 musicians and bands gathered on April 9th at the Casbah in Hamilton to donate their time and play in support of patients and their families battling cancer.

Ginger St. James, an organizer of the all-day event writes, “Four years ago, a longtime friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was 32 years old and expecting her third child. Friends and family gathered together to provide support, child care and to help with errands. The bills were piling up. Cancer not only takes a toll on your body and soul, but also on your bank account. That’s when the fundraiser, Bands 4 Boobs, was born. We hoped to offer an afternoon of music while raising funds to help her and her family. The event has become so successful and popular we are now going into our 5th year. The amount of outpouring support from our community and volunteers is almost overwhelming. 2017 was by far our biggest event yet and we are all looking forward to continuing this amazing event and providing music, community and empowerment to those impacted by Cancer.”

The following bands and artists performed at the Casbah on April 9th, 2017:

Soul Sunrise, Andy Griffiths, George Douglas & Marcus Star, The Pistolettes, Deeps, Lynn Jackson, Matty Simpson Band, Felicia McMinn Band, Dan Walsh, D’arcy Good, Marnie Hood & Kristin Cavoukian, Gillian Nicola, Harrison Kennedy, Brenda Lennie, Prior Convictions, Tim Gibbons, Checkerboard Floors, SnowHeel Slim, Mike Almas, Sean LeSage, Alfie Smith, Ian Andrews, Mike Williams Band, Babage Industries, The Treble Men, Elliot and the Audio Kings, Spencer Mackenzie, The Vaudevillian, Big Rude Jake, and Ginger St James.
