Bret Michaels, from the ’80s glam band Poison, brought the party to Casino Rama recently. Performing an hour long set consisting of Poison hits and a few covers tossed in as well.

The 2010 Celebrity Apprentice winner brought an energetic performance to the packed house. The 53 year old who suffers from type 1 Diabetes, showed the crowd he has his health under control, barely standing still for longer then a moment. Even doing jumps that people younger than him wouldn’t attempt.

To introduce the song Sweet Home Alabama, Bret explained that this was the first song he ever learned and it had a fondness in his heart.

Bret was very personable with the audience. Thanking them for coming and shaking their hands.

At the end of the show he announced that he started an initiative to benefit local charities within the communities where he is performing. Two of the hats that Michaels wore during the show were auctioned off. Bidding started at $200 but quickly rose to $2100. Also a portion of the proceeds from the meet and greet where added to the total. In all the shows I’ve covered, I have yet to see anyone do such a good will gesture. Props to Bret Michaels!
