The world woke up this morning to the news that Chris Cornell died. The frontman for Soundgarden passed away some time after the band played in Detroit, Michigan at the Fox Theatre last night, May 17th. Cornell, who also played in Temple of the Dog and Audioslave, was 52 years old.

Soundgarden was on tour and headlined The Northern Invasion Festival on May 13th in Somerset, Wisconsin. Tommy Allen Williams was there covering the festival for Music Life Magazine and captured some great shots of Cornell.

Here is a gallery of Chris Cornell from that night as captured by Tommy. More photos from Northern Invasion coming soon.
