In My Coma Releases Video For “Beautiful Mind” With Special Appearance by John Oliver’s Dancing Zebra

In My Coma

For Toronto-based alternative rock band In My Coma, their new album Next Life is a landmark musical statement enveloped by epic arrangements, meshed with powerful melodies, insistent guitar riffs and a dark emotional intensity that infuses every note and every lyric. The album, produced by Mark Makoway (of Canadian rock band MOIST), available on iTunes on October 6, became available for pre-sale today at http://itunes.apple.com/album/id1275755065?ls=1&app=itunes.

To support the iTunes pre-sale the band decided to create a special video for their track Beautiful Mind. But as of yesterday, the video was incomplete and nobody was happy with it. Something was missing. After much brainstorming lead singer Jasper James remembered John Oliver’s release of a green screen video featuring a dancing zebra to fans in March of this year.

Oliver posted the video on his LastWeekTonight YouTube channel with a note saying “Dancing zebras improve every situation, so feel free to add this footage of a zebra dancing in front of a green screen to a video of your choice. Share your creations using #JustAddZebras. The zebra was hilariously used in numerous memes and videos on social media. Now, 6 months later, In My Coma resurrects Oliver’s dancing zebra and the popular hashtag in a whole new way.

The addition of the dancing zebra to this fun video, filled with cool creatures and entertaining characters was perfect. John Oliver was right; dancing zebras do improve every situation! Check out the video for Beautiful Mind here: https://youtu.be/XSFyj-YltN4

“We are really excited to share this video with our fans” said Jasper James. “And we hope John Oliver digs it too!”

Catch In My Coma at Toronto’s Horseshoe Tavern on October 26.
