Waterloo pop-punk band Among Legends recently released its latest single called We Were Vaguely Saints, the lead single on Hello Sailor Records’ compilation album Coveted, released today, September 16.

“We thought it would be fun to ask bands and solo musicians to cover songs that they had never heard,” said KM North, founder of Hello Sailor Records, whose compilation features songs from bands across North America. “We sent them the lyrics and gave them carte blanche to do whatever they chose.”

Among Legends took the challenge, creating and recording We Were Vaguely Saints in less than two weeks.

“It was tough but really exciting to create something cohesive so quickly,” said Mitchell Buchanan, drummer and lead singer of Among Legends. “The song turned out better than we could have hoped. It’s energetic, melodic, emotional and catchy. I think it’s going to resonate beyond the confines of just pop-punk.”

Coveted is available for free through Hello Sailor’s Bandcamp page, and Among Legends‘ single will be available across all major streaming platforms and on their website amonglegends.com.
