Redeemer of Souls – Judas Priest live at the Air Canada Centre – 11/12/15

(Toronto, ON) – The British heavy metal band Judas Priest made a pit stop in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre as part of their Redeemer of Souls tour. Since their inception over 40 years ago, they’ve sold over 45 million albums to date, have released 17 studio albums, 5 live albums, 6 compilation albums, 33 singles, 9 video albums, and 17 music videos. Although not all original members, the current lineup does justice to the power house which is Judas Priest.

Having never seen this legendary act perform, I was incredibly impressed with Rob Halford‘s vocal tenacity. He completely blew me away with his impeccable delivery on the set list performed that evening. Not a pitch issue nor a lower octave detected anywhere during the 90 minute set. He has slowed down physically, but certainly not vocally. His wardrobe changes would rival some of the top hip hop artists of today.

Although it was considered a huge loss to have guitarist K.K Downing retire from Judas Priest, Richie Faulkner proved that he was more than capable of filling in those big shoes. Certified shredder and showman, he fits in seamlessly.

Sharing the axe responsibilities was long time member Glenn Tipton on the 6 strings and while original member Ian Hill filled in on the quad strings. Stationary in his stance. He barely moved from his spot.

Halford known for riding a motorcycle on stage, cruised on out for the song Hell Bent for Leather.

As a gesture of appreciation, guitarist Glenn Tipton jumped into the photo pit at the end of the show and passed out guitar picks to his fans.

Judas Priest played a great mix of new songs from their 2014 release Redeemer of Souls album and classic hits that made them popular back in the day.
