Whitford/St. Holmes took the stage to an almost capacity crowd and if you decided to show up late you missed out on a great band. The audience ate up every second of their set. Brad Whitford of Aerosmith and Brad St. Holmes of Ted Nugent full of energy and 70’s style guitar riffs filled the open air of Artpark in Lewiston, NY and I am pretty sure everyone in the adjacent houses to the park were enjoying the music as well.  It has been 35 years since Whitford and St. Holmes released their first album as Whitford/St. Holmes and they haven’t missed a beat.

There was nothing still in the night at Artpark when Whitesnake took the stage on Tuesday and I sat there a bit mesmerized at the fact that I had the opportunity to shoot a band that I love. Growing up in high school listening to Whitesnake and now 20+ years later (yes, I am aging myself) I am standing in the media pit about to capture the show is just amazing. I sat on the grass with thousands of other people at Artpark and just soaked it all in.  The music was loud, the atmosphere was perfect and I couldn’t have ask for better weather for an outdoor concert.

Whitesnake opened their set with My Generation and Bad Boys to open arms of thousands of cheering fans.  David Coverdale took command of the stage interacting with everyone he could lay his eyes on with swagger.

Two amazing guitar players, Joel Hoekstra and Reb Beach, each in their own right took centre stage to show us what they do best and made their guitars seem like extensions of their bodies.  Screaming guitars on a summers evening what is not to love.  But Not to be outdone a bass solo, by Mike Devin and drum solo by Tommy Aldridge was soon to follow to the delight of the capacity crowd.

David came back out on stage and the band played Slow n’ Easy and of course a crowd favourite Here I Go Again.  David has such charisma and a style all his own, I felt like I had gone back in time, it was 1989 all over again which is perfect for a Greatest Hit Tour.  I shut my eyes lying on the grass and memories came flooding back. I couldn’t ask for a better way to officially start summer than to go to Whitesnake’s Greatest Hits Tour.

Whitesnake finished off the night with In The Still Of The Night, walked off stage as the audience chanted wanting more.
