At 21 Toronto’s Siobhan Bodrug already has a resume that many artists would envy. She co-wrote “Wildflower” which is nominated for a 2026 Canadian Screen Award for Original Music in a film, she has shared the stage with the likes of Stars, Joel Plaskett, Dizzy and Elliott Brood, has performed at Departure Fest, Honey Jam, Summerfolk, The Winnipeg Folk Festival and this summer will be playing at NXNE and Summerfest Milwaukee. She will also release her first full length album “Imperfect” later this year.
Her “retro-modern” sound has been compared to a cross between Alicia Keys and Billie Eilish while remaining distinctly her own. Her new single “Monster” showcases the power of her vocals.
Siobahn has this to say about the release of her new single. “‘Monster’ tells the story of a toxic, complicated relationship. It deals with the mental torment of hiding behind an innocuous facade versus meeting the person head on. ‘One minute it’s love, the next it’s fire… Is it a cover for something? Or just the cold hard truth?’ The chorus ends with the most difficult question of all – as a child dealing with an adult situation – ‘will the monster take away my youth?’ The story however, takes an unexpected turn of self-realization in the bridge – ‘you’re a beast, you’re a beauty, and I’m just like you'”.
