Press release –
German hard rock guitarist Axel Rudi Pell has announced the band’s next full-length album, Ghost Town, releasing March 20 via Steamhammer Records. Ghost Town was self-produced by the guitarist, composer, and band mastermind Pell at Blind Guardian Studios in Grefrath alongside Tommy Geiger (Blind Guardian, Helloween), who was in charge of the mixing and providing valuable engineering support during the recording sessions.
With the album announcement the band shared the first single, which is also the album’s title track. A haunting uptempo number, very catchy, very focused that brings to mind the style of early Rainbow classics.

-
Ghost Town songs are marked by Pell’s typical, unmistakable signature — a hybrid of powerful guitar riffs and catchy melodies, presented by a brilliant band consisting of American vocalist Johnny Gioeli, former Rainbow drummer Bobby Rondinelli, bassist Volker Krawczak, and keyboardist Ferdy Doernberg.
-
Pell has been wowing his fans for well over 35 (!!!) years and his albums have always included a number of surprises and/or remarkable collaborations.
-
The track “Breaking Seals,” features a sensational duet starring frontman Gioeli together with German metal legend Udo Dirkschneider. The collaboration is a first in Pell’s career and is additional proof of the great respect the guitarist enjoys among his fellow musicians.
-
Pell often states that his music revolves around a knight in shining armor embarking on various adventures. Each album continues a new quest, with songs told as separate stories.
-
Pell has said his primary guitar influence has been Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple.
Axel Rudi Pell has added another 11 masterpieces to his long list of outstanding songs.
