USS captivated Toronto with their highly anticipated comeback tour on June 11, 2025. Performing at the The Concert Hall, it was a memorable experience that had fans wanting more.
Opening for USS was Ria Mae, and honestly, I wasn’t familiar with her name when I first saw the roster. However, once she took the stage, it didn’t take long for me to recognize her captivating songs like The Old Me and Bend. She had flown in from the Maritimes to deliver an unforgettable acoustic set.
As she performed, Ria shared a glimpse into her life—speaking about her move to Toronto and how she returned to the east coast once the pandemic hit. This personal touch made her relatable and approachable; you could easily imagine sharing a coffee with her and chatting about life. One story that particularly stood out was how she wrote The Old Me while waiting in a Tim Hortons drive-thru—a testament to how inspiration can strike at any moment.
Her vocals were strong, imbued with genuine emotion that resonated deeply with the audience. I truly enjoyed her set; it left me wanting more and eager to explore her music further. Ria Mae is not just a talented artist but someone you’d want to connect with—definitely an experience worth having!
The return of the Alternative Rock band Ubiquitous Synergy Seekers, affectionately known as USS, has been nothing short of electrifying. After a three-year hiatus, they stormed back onto the stage in Toronto, selling out four shows within mere minutes—a testament to their unwavering fanbase and the excitement surrounding their comeback. The atmosphere at the concert hall was charged with energy as fans gathered to celebrate this long-awaited reunion.
From the moment they took the stage, USS didn’t skip a beat. They delivered an unforgettable performance that included all their top radio hits alongside some beloved niche tracks like Stationary Robbery. The crowd was rowdy and enthusiastic, especially in the VIP section where die-hard fans reveled in every note. Their 19-song setlist was a masterclass in showmanship; classics such as This is the Best, Shipwreck, Ying Yang, Work Shoes, Who’s With Me, and Hollow Point Sniper Hyperbole had everyone singing along passionately.
Jason Parsons, famously known as the “Human Kebab,” was a whirlwind of energy that captivated everyone who witnessed his performance. With an infectious enthusiasm, he jumped and flailed about, transforming every moment into a vibrant spectacle. His dynamic movements are not just entertaining; they embody a spirit of joy and spontaneity that resonated with the audience.
Despite a slight snag when Ash’s pedal kicked the bucket mid-performance, it only added to the charm of what felt like an epic party rather than just another concert. Ending on a high note with Nepal, USS left fans exhilarated and grateful for their return after such a long absence. This concert wasn’t just about music; it was about connection—both between the band and their audience and among fans themselves. It’s clear that USS is back and better than ever, ready to reclaim their place in our hearts with every powerful chord they play.
