New Music From PETER CARLSOHN’S THE RISE – “Raising the Roof”

Press release –

Raising the Roof marks a powerful new chapter for Peter Carlsohn’s The Rise, delivering a melodic hard rock album filled with energy, conviction, and signature Scandinavian craftsmanship. Anchored by Carlsohn’s unmistakable bass playing and emotive lead vocals, the record blends classic rock roots with a modern edge, pairing big hooks and gritty riffs with atmospheric keyboards. The album was recorded by Jack L. Stroem at JLS Studio Ent. in Floda, Sweden, mixed by Tobias Lindell, and mastered by Thomas “Plec” Johansson, giving it both punch and clarity.

A true veteran of the scene, Carlsohn brings more than five decades of experience to the project. He has been the bassist for legendary Christian rock band Jerusalem since 1980, a member of XT since 2017 alongside Björn Stigsson, Sonny Larsson, Dan Tibell, and Thomas Weinesjö, and has toured extensively across Asia and Africa with Rune Edvardsen & Red Band since 2008. Over the years, he has also performed with artists including Carola Häggkvist, Veni Domine, Phil Driscoll, and Ulf Christiansson, contributing to Jerusalem’s global sales across physical and digital formats.

From driving hard rock anthems to dynamic mid-tempo tracks layered with strong harmonies and emotional depth, Raising the Roof balances urgency with a sense of uplift. The album serves as Carlsohn’s second solo release and features a strong lineup of collaborators, including longtime musical partner Michael Ulvsgärd on drums, Stephen Carlson on lead guitar, Lars Carlsohn on guitar, Svenne Jansson on keyboards, and Cutta John Kåre Gullestad on backing and co-lead vocals. Together, they deliver a bold and passionate follow-up to Out of the Blue, showcasing Carlsohn’s continued growth as a songwriter, vocalist, and producer.
