Streetlight Release New Single “Runaway Skies” Ahead of Upcoming Album Shadows In Motion; New album arrives January 22, 2027, via Frontiers Music Srl

Swedish melodic rock band Streetlight have released their new single and official music video, “Runaway Skies,” offering another preview of their upcoming third studio album, Shadows In Motion, scheduled for release on January 22, 2027, through Frontiers Music Srl.

The song is the second single from the new album and brings together the soaring guitar work, strong melodies and polished harmonies that have become central to the band’s sound.

According to vocalist Johannes Häger, “Runaway Skies” was among the first songs written for the upcoming record and continues a tradition the band has followed on each of its albums.

Built around a driving guitar riff, the song combines a slightly melancholic atmosphere with an uplifting feel. Its inspiration comes from the imagery of California, taking listeners on a musical journey from the coastal scenery of Malibu to the streets of Hollywood after dark.

The upcoming Shadows In Motion follows the band’s first two albums and represents another step forward for the five-piece group as they continue developing their brand of classic AOR and melodic rock.

Like their previous releases, the new album was recorded and produced at Häger’s own Loud Noise Studios. The band spent considerable time refining the songs, paying particular attention to everything from the drum sounds to the layered vocal harmonies.

Streetlight say the recording process involved plenty of long days and late nights, but also provided an opportunity to push themselves creatively while enjoying the experience of making music together.

Having built a dedicated following since their formation, the band are looking forward to sharing their third album with fans.

The 10-track release promises a mix of energetic rock songs and more reflective moments, combining powerful guitar riffs, prominent keyboards and melodic choruses with the band’s appreciation for the classic rock sound of the 1980s.

While Streetlight remain firmly rooted in the traditions of melodic rock, Shadows In Motion also reflects their continued growth as musicians and songwriters.

With “Runaway Skies” now available, fans have another taste of what to expect when the full album arrives early next year.
