The hard rock icon teams up with Gary Hoey and Bobby Rock for a haunting new track released through Frontiers Music Srl.

Rock guitar legend Lita Ford is back with new music, just in time for Halloween! The former Runaways guitarist and hard rock icon has released her brand-new single, “Dracula,” along with an accompanying music video, giving fans an exciting preview of what’s to come in 2027.
The release follows Ford’s recent signing with Frontiers Music Srl and marks another chapter in a career that has helped shape the sound and attitude of hard rock for five decades.
Produced by acclaimed guitarist Gary Hoey and mixed by legendary producer Max Norman, “Dracula” features Ford alongside Hoey, with Bobby Rock behind the drums. The track brings together the guitar-driven sound, dark atmosphere and attitude that fans have come to expect from Ford.
While the title may suggest a traditional vampire tale, the song explores something a little more sinister beneath the surface, using the legendary character as a metaphor for seduction, manipulation and control.
“Dracula” is a song about an entity that represents seduction and control, eventually draining you of your life and everything in it. But there’s something fun about flirting with disaster, making “Dracula” a playful fantasy. The moaning slide guitars take on a life force all their own. Menacing!” Ford explains.
The accompanying music video adds another dimension to the release, arriving at the perfect time for fans looking to add a little hard rock to their Halloween celebrations.
From The Runaways to Hard Rock Royalty
Ford’s musical journey began in 1976 when she joined The Runaways as lead guitarist. The groundbreaking all-female rock band helped challenge the expectations of the music industry with rebellious anthems such as “Cherry Bomb” and “Queens of Noise.”
Following the group’s breakup in 1979, Ford launched a solo career that would establish her as one of the most recognizable female guitarists in hard rock and heavy metal.
Her 1983 debut album, Out for Blood, introduced audiences to her solo sound, while 1984’s Dancin’ on the Edge helped build her reputation with tracks such as “Gotta Let Go.”
Her biggest commercial breakthrough came with the release of her self-titled album Lita in 1988. The multi-platinum record delivered the hard rock anthem “Kiss Me Deadly” and the unforgettable power ballad “Close My Eyes Forever,” a duet with the late Ozzy Osbourne that
remains one of the defining collaborations of the era.
Ford continued releasing music through the following decades, including Stiletto, Dangerous Curves, Black and Living Like a Runaway, demonstrating her ability to evolve while remaining true to her guitar-driven roots.
Along the way, she has received numerous honours recognizing her contributions to music, including the Guitar Player Lifetime Achievement Award, the Guitar Player Certified Legend Award and induction into the Guitar Player Hall of Fame.
In 2017, Ford was recognized as the First Lady of Rock Guitar at the She Rocks Awards, while her iconic B.C. Rich Warlock guitar became part of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s permanent collection in 2021.
Beyond the stage, Ford has also shared her remarkable life story in her bestselling 2016 memoir, Living Like a Runaway, offering fans an inside look at her experiences in the music industry.
