David Lee Roth brought his “Don’t Love Me, Rent Me” tour to the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino on Thursday, May 21, 2026. The former Van Halen singer may not move or sing like he did back in the early days, but at 71 years old, he still knows how to work a crowd. For close to two hours, Roth stayed on stage smiling, joking, dancing, and clearly enjoying every minute of the night.

This was Roth’s first time playing the OLG Stage, and fans gave him a warm welcome from the moment he walked out. The night kicked off with “Panama” which set the tone for the night. The show was loud, fun, and packed with Van Halen classics.

Roth’s voice showed its age at times, especially on some of the higher notes. His backup singers made up what Roth lacked vocally and the audience did not seem to care. People came to hear the songs, relive memories, and spend a night with one of rock’s most famous frontmen. Roth gave them exactly that.

The setlist included songs like “Dance the Night Away,” “Runnin’ with the Devil,” “Hot for Teacher” and “Ain’t Talkin’ ’Bout Love.”

The most emotional moment of the concert came halfway through the night before “Ice Cream Man.” Sitting on a stool with his guitar, Roth spoke about Eddie Van Halen — or “Ed,” as he called him — and reflected on the early days of Van Halen, when the two would sit knee-to-knee in a tiny room at Eddie’s house writing songs together because there was barely any space. He then shared how, years later, after all the success, Eddie pulled his chair close once again in his massive recording studio so they could write their final two songs together the same way they started – knee-to-knee. It was a touching full-circle moment that clearly meant a lot to Roth who appeared emotional.

It was a rare serious moment during a show filled with laughs and good-time rock songs. It reminded everyone how much history these songs carry.

The band and backup singers sounded tight all night and kept the energy moving. Roth spent most of the show dancing across the stage, talking with fans, and throwing in his trademark humor. Even when the vocals were rough, his personality carried the performance.

One thing missing from the night was Roth’s solo material. Fans hoping to hear songs like “Yankee Rose” or “Just Like Paradise” left disappointed. The set stayed focused on Van Halen songs.

The night ended with “Jump,” turning the OLG Stage into one big singalong as fans soaked in the final moments of the night.

David Lee Roth may not be the same performer he was 40 years ago, but he is still a true showman. Thursday night in Niagara Falls was not about perfect vocals or flashy stage moves. It was about fun, memories, and celebrating the music that made Roth a rock star in the first place.
