Last Tuesday’s show at Artpark turned out great in several ways. Not only did the weather co-operate but the double Canadian bill featuring Colin James and Blue Rodeo was a hit for those in attendance.

It was Blue Rodeo‘s seventh time playing the Tuesday Night Summer Concert Series while this marked a first-time appearance for Blues-guitarist Colin James. Both acts have been around since the eighties and both have released several albums and have a big following in Canada. Either act could have easily headlined the night but it was James who got the night underway at about 6:30pm.

Colin James got the crowd going with a set that included older and newer songs, a mix of his Blues and Big Band songs including Five Long Years, Just Came Back, Freedom, Keep On Lovin’ Me Baby and many more!

Blue Rodeo hit stage just after 8pm starting their set with 5 Days In May followed by Cynthia. In total, Blue Rodeo‘s set consisted of 19 songs – older songs, newer songs and even a cover of John Lennon’s Instant Karma!

As always, Blue Rodeo failed to disappoint and proved once again why they are always welcomed to Artpark.
