Boy George & Culture Club, B-52’s, Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey set to close off Artpark’s Tuesdays In the Park Concert Series; tickets still available

Another season of Tuesdays In the Park at Artpark is coming to a close next Tuesday, August 28 when the Life Tour – featuring Boy George & Culture Club, B-52’s and Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey – help close off the 2018 summer concert series.

Culture Club are an English new wave band that formed in London in 1981. The band comprises Boy George (lead vocals), Roy Hay (guitar and keyboards), Mikey Craig (bass guitar) and Jon Moss (drums and percussion). They are considered one of the most representative and influential groups of the 1980s.

Some of their hits include “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me”, “Time (Clock of the Heart)”, “Church of the Poison Mind”, “Karma Chameleon”, “Victims”, “It’s a Miracle”, “The War Song”, “Move Away”, and “I Just Wanna Be Loved”.

The band is set to release a new album this Fall.

The B-52’s is an American new wave band, formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1976. The original line-up consisted of Fred Schneider (vocals), Kate Pierson (vocals, keyboards), Cindy Wilson (vocals, percussion), Ricky Wilson (lead guitar) and Keith Strickland (drums, rhythm guitar, keyboards). After Ricky Wilson’s death from AIDS-related illness in 1985, Strickland switched from drums to lead guitar. The band also added touring members for albums and live performances.

Their hits include Roam, Love Shack and Rock Lobster.

Tom Bailey is best known as a member of Thompson Twins, a British pop band that formed in April 1977. Initially a new wave group, they switched to a more mainstream pop sound and achieved considerable popularity from 1983, scoring a string of hits in the United Kingdom, the United States, and around the globe. Some of their hits include Lies, Doctor! Doctor!, Hold Me Now and You Take Me Up.

I’m sure this will be one of the best shows to come to Artpark! Don’t miss out on this year’s finale!
