After a long hiatus, the 7th Annual Kerrfest returned to Westwood Park with an incredible lineup of artists. This year, the festival ran from Thursday, September 8, and continued through to Sunday, Sept 11th.
On Thursday, September 8 – Kerrfest opened the weekend with Canadian Rock Band, Chilliwack as the headliner. Eclectic Revival wasted no time warming up the crowd. They tote themselves as a roaring good East Coast kitchen party band. That it was!
Next to take the stage was The Cooper Brothers. Canada’s premiere Country/Southern rock band from the 70s through the mid-80s, the Cooper Brothers were founded in Ottawa, Ontario, by brothers Brian and Dick Cooper and their long-time friend, Terry “T.K.” King.
As the sun began to set, it did not take long before HAYWIRE had the audience up dancing and singing along to all of their hits. The band’s energy and playfulness were just what the fans, old and new, wanted!
Then it was time for the headliner, CHILLIWACK. CHILLIWACK closed the first night of the festival with hit after hit of favourite songs. Bill Henderson, founder and lead singer of Chilliwack, belted out over an hour and a half of chart-topping songs before saying good night and closing a successful Day 1.
On Friday, September 9- Kerrfest welcomes “East Coast Night,” check out The Trews, Jimmy Rankin, and the Irish Descendants!
On Saturday, September 10 – Kerrfest welcomed 54.40, Canada’s band, to the stage as our headliner! The musical lineup also featured The Box, Bill Durst and so many more!
On Sunday, September 11 – Kerrfest Kids came to town! The little ones had a blast with meet and greets from Paw Patrol’s Chase & Skye, as well as Bob the Builder!
If you have never been to Kerrfest, I suggest you mark it on your calendar for 2023! Amazing staff, well organized, great food, and of course, fantastic live entertainment!
