Rock and metal fans, are you ready for a phenomenal show? Are you ready to experience some amazing theatrical scenes and heavy music to go along? If so, Ghost will be the band you need to see October 11! Ghost will be performing at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington, West Virginia! Prepare to see one of the greatest live performances you will ever see in your life!

Don’t know about Ghost? Let’s talk about them.

Ghost is a Swedish rock band from Linkoping, Sweden. I saw this band open for Iron Maiden in June of 2017. I had not heard any music from Ghost nor was I familiar with their name. At that time, Papa Emeritus 3, (I’ll explain more about the papas later in the article), had a black suit with a white shirt underneath and a black and white face mask on. You would think you were looking at an evil pope figure. The rest of the band which are named, “Nameless Ghouls” had silver facemasks on with dark black suits. Let’s just say they made a wonderful first impression! I became a fan that night! With songs like Square Hammer, Cirice, Dance Macabre you will be adding their songs to your playlist!

Fans have compared Ghost to the likes of Pink Floyd and Blue Oyster Cult. In a way, I can see that. Especially Pink Floyd. Ghost just never fails to bring quality music and quality shows.

Their newest album, Prequelle is a masterpiece, in my opinion. Ghost is not afraid to experiment with their music, especially with this album. That’s what makes Ghost so tremendous. They have such a unique sound. Super heavy organs with ripping guitar solos and thunderous drums creating music you not only hear but feel through your soul!

Another unique fact about this band is their detailed artwork, very much “eye candy”. The album covers alone make you want to check it out. But I will be the first to tell you, picking up a Ghost album will be something you will never regret. Once you put the CD in your home stereo or your car to cruise to or even to drop the needle on one of their vinyl’s, it catches your attention within the first note. They always have a very heavy organ/orchestral introduction to their albums making you excited for what’s about to come. The heaviness after the intro will blow your mind. You’ll be in a daze with how spectacular their albums are. It’s like going through a wild roller coaster ride. You’re in one direction when suddenly, it turns and you’re going in another.

Speaking of directions, they change singers with every new album they release. No, it’s still Tobias Forge singing, but he changes personas if you will. Their first album, Opus Eponymous, had Papa Emeritus 1. Their second album Infestissumam had Papa Emeritus 2 and Meliora, their third album, had Papa Emeritus 3. Now, their latest release, Prequelle has Cardinal Copia. Why not Papa 4? That is what I am talking about.

It’s always something intriguing with Ghost. They never tire their fans with the same repetitious act. I hope this will make you want to catch Ghost at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena. You will not regret getting tickets. I promise! You will leave Big Sandy a Ghost fan! No questions asked.
