Grammy Award-winning guitarist/producer Paul Nelson releases new Christmas tune All I Got for Christmas Was the Blues and a Broken Heart

It’s that time of year again and Christmas is just around the corner! We’re very excited to get a new Christmas tune from  Grammy Award-winning guitarist/producer Paul Nelson, who was Johnny Winter’s band-mate, band leader, producer and closest friend.

He toured and recorded with Winter up until Johnny’s untimely death in 2014.

Winter’s critically acclaimed album, Step Back, won the 2015 Best Blues Album Grammy.  Paul won a Grammy for producing the album, in addition to playing guitar on several tracks.

Paul was also nominated for a 2017 Grammy in the Best Contemporary Blues Album category for his production work on Blues Hall of Fame inductee Joe Louis Walker’s noteworthy album, Everybody Wants a Piece.  Paul also played guitar on the album.

Paul and his band are currently on tour; continuing to perform to ever-growing sold-out audiences worldwide.

Paul, along with Anthony Krizon, have recorded a new, original Christmas blues track entitled All I Got for Christmas Was the Blues and a Broken Heart.

Krizan, who sings the soulful lead vocal, was formerly the lead guitarist in the Spin Doctors for two years (1994-96) and also performed in a band with former Jimi Hendrix bassist Noel Redding for ten years.
