Currently touring to support their newest release, Welcome Home, Hellyeah made a stop at the London Concert Theatre in London, Ontario.  As the last recorded work of founding member Vinnie Paul, the tour is also to celebrate and remember the life of Vinnie , a much loved member of the rock and roll community for many years.  Joining Hellyeah in supporting roles were Nonpoint and Deepfall.   The venue filled rather quickly, as heavy metal kids, young and old, prepared to pay tribute to Vinnie.

Vocalist Chad Gray hit the stage, and almost immediately Immersed himself into the crowd, leaning out over the railing while security and tour manager Jake clung to his calves and ankles for dear life.  This happened a few times throughout the night, as Chad and the boys delivered a great set featuring several tracks from the new album, including Oh My God, 333, and Welcome Home.  A highlight for me was a video of Skyy and Water featuring footage of Vinnie Paul throughout his career.  Following this, we were treated to cover versions of Pantera’s Broken and Walk, to further honour Vinnie, as well as his brother Dimebag Darryl.

Closing out the night with Waging War and HellyeahHellyeah left everyone with fond memories of Vinnie Paul, as well as new memories of a fantastic show in a rather small and intimate setting.  Be sure to catch this show if it comes to a town near you, you won’t be disappointed.
