Hometown Rising 2019 Coming to Kentucky Expo Sept. 14 and 15; Full Lineup and Preview

Louisville, Kentucky has a brand spanking new festival this year! The two-day festival will take place September 14th and 15th at the Highlands Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Expo. Hometown Rising will consist of some of the greatest country music around! This venue will also be home to the Bourbon and Beyond Festival and the Louder Than Life festival. Three weekends of incredible music, bourbon, and great friends! What could be better? Let’s get more into the lineup of Hometown Rising and see what this festival has to offer!

Hometown Rising will kick off on Saturday, September 14. One of the biggest acts that will take the stage on Saturday will be Tim Mcgraw! Tim is from Delhi, Louisiana. Having big hits such as Something Like That, Live Like You Were Dying, It’s Your Love, Indian Outlaw among others, Louisville is sure in for a phenomenal time with the likes of Tim Mcgraw! You may know Tim from marrying country music star, Faith Hill in 1996. They have done duets together such as Keep Your Eyes on Me, Angry All the Time, Just to Hear You Say That You Love Me and many others.

Also, on the bill for Saturday is Little Big Town! They are from Homewood, AL, having hits such as Little White Church, Boondocks, Girl Crush and others. This festival is already off to a tremendous start!

If that’s not enough to pique your interest already country fans, then you might want to check out this next act. Dwight Yoakam! Dwight is from my home state of Kentucky. Pikeville, KY to be exact. Dwight has hits such as Fast as You, A Thousand Miles from Nowhere, Guitars, Cadillacs and more. You might know Dwight for his duet with Buck Owens on Streets of Bakersfield.

Already, this festival is going to be a country music fan’s dream. But wait, there’s more! Trace Adkins will also be making an appearance! Trace is from Sarepta, Louisiana. He has hits such as Ladies Love Country Boys, You’re Gonna Miss This, Honky Tonk Badonkadonk and others. Trace has also starred in movies, one of the biggest being Hickok.

But It doesn’t stop there. Up next is one of my personal favourites on the bill, The Steel Woods. They are from Nashville, TN. I had an opportunity to catch them in their home state of Tennessee. It wasn’t in Nashville, but Johnson City. Some of their big songs are Better in The Fall, Straw in The Wind and Whatever It Means to You. They do an amazing Black Sabbath cover of Hole In The Sky off Sabotage. Talk about a rocking number. What I really like about it is The Steel Woods put their own little touch on it to make it sound countrified if you will. I would highly recommend checking this band out at Hometown Rising!

Next, is The Cadillac Three. Just like The Steel Woods, they are from Nashville, TN. Having songs such as White Lightning, Party Like You, and The South, they are sure to bring the feeling of popping the top on a cold one to Louisville, KY. You may know The Cadillac Three as all three members were part of the band American Bang.

Others acts gracing the lineup for Saturday, September 14

Frankie Ballard, Jimmie Allen, Lindsay Ell, Clare Dunn, Noah Guthrie, J.D. Shelburne, The Sisterhood Band, Raelyn Nelson Band, Alice Wallace and IMAJ.

Day 2, September 15, there is still some wonderful country music that is headed your way! One of the biggest acts on this day is none other than Luke Bryan! If you know anything about country music today, you will know this name. He is from Leesburg, GA, but got his start in music in Nashville, TN. Having hits such as Country Girl, Rain is a Good Thing, and Drink a Beer, Luke will no doubt make Louisville dance the night away.

Up next on the bill is Keith Urban. Keith is from New Zealand. Some of his big hits are Blue Ain’t Your Color, Cop Car and Til Summer Comes Around. This will be a performance you do not want to miss! Keith’s soothing voice will make you want to hold the one you love close under the stars.

Next, is Brett Young. He is from Orange County, California. Some hits he has are In Case You Didn’t Know, Mercy and Sleep Without You. Brett Young speaks to the soul. His music will bring a smile to your face without questions asked.

If that’s not enough to fill your country music needs, how about Jake Owen making an appearance? Jake is from Winter Haven, FL. Jake Owen is known for songs such as Beachin, Down to The Honkytonk and Barefoot Blue Jean Night. Jake will make your blues disappear with his upbeat style of country.

On top of that, how about Bret Michaels?  Yes, you read that right. Bret Michaels from the band Poison is going to be at Hometown Rising! This is a perfect opportunity for all the country and rock fans to experience the best of both worlds! Bret has made a few solo albums. Songs from them include It’s My Party, Right Here, Right Now and Go That Far. This will no doubt be an amazing performance! I have seen Bret Michaels before in concert. Expect to see a lot of energy and hear a lot of killer music!
