NEW MUSIC VIDEO: Fletcher Gull – Deciduo

Born and raised in Australia, Fletcher Gull’s wanderlust landed him in Toronto in early 2017 to soak up a little Canadiana as well as connect with the incredibly diverse and expansive local music scene. Back home, he was a veteran of the local scene, playing in several bands throughout his teens and into his early 20s and touring extensively throughout the island nation.

Remember That You’re Gone is his first solo EP, and is indicative of a songwriter, vocalist and musician who has a genuine understanding of how to construct powerful melodies. The hooks are catchy and the music has lush production elements that add an element of timelessness to it.

His single/video Deciduo, was inspired by a memorable experience Gull had on a special night of the year. “I had the melody stuck in my head for a couple of years but never really did anything with it” he began to explain. “I was still home in Australia and it was the first day of our winter. And I don’t know if it’s the same here in Canada but it seems the first full day of winter the air is really chilly and it’s usually a clear day with no wind. It’s the most beautiful day of the year for me and there’s always a really spectacular orange, red and purple sunset. It’s a weird phenomenon, but it seems to happen every year”.

“I always go for a long walk and on this day I just found this tree and I guess I was in a really spiritual mood and really soaking in the beauty of the day but there was something striking about this tree.

It was beautiful, big and really old and had lost almost all its leaves and I couldn’t stop looking at it and just sat down beside it for hours and I wrote the song about this tree.”
