Tedeschi Trucks Band “Wheels of Soul 2018 Tour” with Drive-by Truckers and The Marcus King Band rolls into Artpark July 17; Tickets still available

Next week, July 17, the “Wheels of Soul 2018 Tour” featuring Tedeschi Trucks Band with Drive-By Truckers and The Marcus King Band comes to Artpark for Tuesdays In the Park at the outdoor amphitheater stage for a great triple bill!

The Tedeschi Trucks Band is an American blues rock group based in Jacksonville, Florida. Formed in 2010, the band is led by married couple Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks. Their debut album, Revelator (2011), won the 2012 Grammy Award for Best Blues Album. The band has released three studio and two live albums.

The Drive-By Truckers are an alternative country/Southern rock band based in Athens, Georgia. The band currently consists of Mike Cooley (lead vocals, guitar, banjo), Patterson Hood (lead vocals, guitar), Brad Morgan (drums), Jay Gonzalez (keys, guitar, accordion, backing vocals), and Matt Patton (bass guitar, backing vocals). They have 11 studio albums with the last one being American Band (2016)

The Marcus King Band is led by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Marcus King. Raised in Greenville, South Carolina, United States, King was brought up on the blues, playing shows as a pre-teen sideman with his father, Marvin King.

The Marcus King Band released their debut album, Soul Insight in 2015 on Warren Haynes’ Evil Teen Records. Soul Insight reached No. 8 on the Billboard Blues Albums Chart.

The band’s second full-length LP and first album for Fantasy Records, The Marcus King Band, was released in 2016. The album was produced by musician Warren Haynes and written entirely on the road and recorded during a series of sessions at Carriage House Studios in Stamford, Connecticut. The album features Marcus King on lead vocals and guitar, Jack Ryan on drums and percussion, Stephen Campbell on bass, Matt Jennings on keys and organ, Dean Mitchell on saxophone, and Justin Johnson on trumpet, trombone and backing vocals. The album also includes a number of the band’s mentors and collaborators, including Derek Trucks (who plays guitar on Self-Hatred) and Warren Haynes, who in addition to producing the album, added his slide guitar work on Virginia. The Marcus King Band reached No. 2 on the Billboard Blues Albums Chart.
