Next week’s Tuesdays In the Park concert at Artpark will feature one of music’s best-known parody artists, Weird Al Yankovic. With such hits at Eat It, Like A Surgeon, Smells Like Nirvana, My Bologna, Amish Paradise, Gump, Achy Breaky Song, Fat, I Think I’m A Clone Now, Girls Just Want To Have Lunch, Lasagna, I Love Rocky Road, Ricky and many more, Weird Al will play the hits and classics he is known for and, along with his usual big production of  costumes, props and video wall, he will be supported by his band, background singers and a full symphony orchestra!

Weird Al got his big break in music in 1976 at age 16 when he gave a tape to comedy radio personality Dr. Demento who began playing Yankovic’s music on his radio show. Besides parodies and originals, Yankovic is also known for playing polkas on his accordion.

Yankovic, a five-time Grammy winner, has sold over 12 million albums, recorded more than 150 parody and original songs, and performed more than 1,000 live shows. Other accolades include four gold records and six platinum records in the U.S. Yankovic’s first top ten Billboard album (Straight Outta Lynwood) and single (White & Nerdy) were both released in 2006, nearly three decades into his career. His latest album, Mandatory Fun (2014), became his first number-one album during its debut week.

Besides music, Yankovic is also a record producer, satirist, actor, voice actor, music video director, comedian, and author. But next Tuesday it will be all about his music!
